Jonas’ journey: growing with Resilient Security

Jonas’s story starts with curiosity, the same spark that drives many in cybersecurity. “I’ve always been interested in computers and the online world,” he says. “When I realized cybersecurity was a growing field, it just made sense to dive in.”

After three years of studying Cybersecurity at Thomas More in Geel, Jonas started his career path with an internship at an Identity & Access Management company in Kontich. It was his first taste of the IAM world and it wouldn’t be his last.

From graduation to Resilient

Sometimes, a single conversation can change your direction. For Jonas, that moment came during his final-year presentation, where Wout – now one of his colleagues – was part of the jury. “He asked if I’d ever considered consulting and IAM,” Jonas recalls. “When Resilient showed interest right after graduation, it felt great. As a young professional, that kind of recognition really gives you a push.”

Learning, doing, growing

Jonas’s first steps at Resilient were focused on internal development, writing automation scripts and optimizing internal tools. From there, he moved into managed services, helping with client support tickets and system operations.

“Today, I’m working directly with clients,” he explains. “Setting up complete Entra ID environments, presenting results, and handling service requests, it’s a mix that keeps things interesting.”

Along the way, he’s taken several trainings, from Omada to the recent Delinea Platform Engineering bootcamp in Milan. “Resilient really invests in making trainings accessible,” he says. “It’s motivating to see how much focus there is on personal growth, especially for starters.”

The best part? Seeing results

“What I enjoy most is finishing a project and seeing it work, especially when the client is happy,” Jonas says with a smile.

Recently, he completed a customer project almost entirely on his own and presented the results. “That was a great feeling. You put in the work, everything comes together, and you can really see the impact.”

Looking ahead

Jonas isn’t one to stay in one lane. “I like getting to know different products and types of projects,” he explains. “That variety helps you understand the bigger picture in IAM and IGA.”

His goal for the coming years? “Running a project from start to finish, including the preparation. I’m learning from the seniors now, but I’m excited to take that next step.”

The Resilient mindset

What stands out most to him about working at Resilient? “The atmosphere,” he says immediately. “It’s very open and down to earth. You can ask anyone anything, even the managers. There’s no hierarchy that makes things feel distant.”

Although seniors are often at client sites, Jonas values every opportunity to connect. “When we do see each other, it’s always constructive. Everyone’s approachable, and that makes a huge difference.”

Words for future teammates

His advice for new colleagues is simple but powerful: “Don’t wait for someone to tell you what to do, take initiative. Look around, see what’s needed, and just start. We’re all self-starters here.”

A future to build together

As Jonas continues to grow, he sees his role expanding beyond just technical work. “With more client contact, I also want to help build business relationships and represent Resilient at events,” he says. “It’s about showing what we stand for.”
