From IT support to Service Delivery Manager: get to know Dwino

Not every career follows a carefully mapped-out plan. Dwino’s certainly didn’t. After secondary school, he started working straight away and gradually found his way into IT. What began in first-line support eventually evolved into roles with more responsibility, customer contact and service management. Today, he brings that experience to Resilient Security as Service Delivery Manager.

“I’ve never really had a fixed career plan,” Dwino explains. “I’ve always looked for new challenges and things to discover. By working hard and with a little bit of luck along the way, I gradually ended up where I am today.”

Eight months ago, a message from Britt brought Resilient Security onto his radar. The role immediately ticked several boxes, both in terms of responsibilities and work-life balance.

Finding his place at Resilient

Joining a smaller cybersecurity team meant entering a new environment. “The first three months were definitely about finding my way,” Dwino says. “Geert and Peter guided me well, especially when it came to customer contact, but I also learn best by doing. I didn’t mind being thrown in at the deep end a little and figuring things out along the way.”

Today, his role combines operational follow-up with service delivery. From keeping track of tickets to customer follow-ups and monthly service meetings, his main responsibility is making sure the service runs smoothly.

“I like bringing structure and making sure everything stays on track,” he explains. “Security is also a very interesting and complex world. I’m still learning a lot every day, both by doing and from the technical experts within our team.”

Variety, freedom and responsibility

For Dwino, one of the best parts of the job is that no two days are exactly the same. “I need new impulses regularly. There’s a standard basis to my work, but something unexpected will always come up that suddenly requires your attention. I actually enjoy those little detours.”

He also values the freedom to organize his own day. “As long as I communicate and meet my deadlines, I get a lot of flexibility in deciding how I work. I’m responsible for making sure things get done, and I really appreciate being trusted to manage that myself.”

That combination of freedom and responsibility is also something he recognizes throughout the Resilient team. “We’re a mix of seniors, mediors and juniors, all with our own personalities and quirks,” he laughs. “But somehow it works. There’s a very collegial, almost family-like atmosphere, and we have a lot of fun together.”

Despite those different personalities, there is a shared mentality. “Everyone wants to deliver quality, keep growing and stand out when it comes to security. We’re all working towards the same goal.”

Keeping customer relationships personal

The personal approach extends to customers as well. For Dwino, good service is about much more than resolving tickets or delivering a technical solution.

“We genuinely know our customers,” he explains. “We know what’s important to them and how they prefer to communicate. We don’t just send an email saying something has been fixed. Sometimes you pick up the phone, explain what happened and make sure they feel supported.”

One of his favourite parts of the job is joining Tom in meetings with existing customers. “It’s always fun to see Tom at work,” he laughs. “He has a way of taking people along in the conversation and then suddenly involving me as well.”

It captures something Dwino appreciates about the Resilient approach: conversations can be informal and personal while still giving customers confidence that their security is in good hands.

Looking ahead

Dwino still isn’t someone with a detailed ten-year career plan. For now, the variety and responsibility within his role give him plenty of room to keep developing. “My goal is actually quite simple: I’d like to stay here for as long as possible and help Resilient Security continue to grow.”

At the same time, having a healthy work-life balance remains important. Outside work, Dwino enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing indoor football and coaching football, running and reading.

“I work to live rather than live to work,” he says. “I enjoy my job, but having my work-life balance in order is very important to me. It’s great that Resilient gives me that flexibility.”

And would he recommend Resilient to others? He already has. “There’s a lot of flexibility and support, people are very collegial and I genuinely feel at home here.”
